Zachary Levi’sShazam! Fury of the Godswas released in theatres this Friday, but the film was heavily criticized by the fans as the sequel failed to meet their expectations. Gaining only $65.5 million till now, the situation is looking bleak for the sequel. However, the situation has worsened because the film is getting bombed on Twitter.
TheTangledactor had a no-barred approach on Twitter, where he talked about the performance of the film with the fans. The actor also shared his opinion on why the sequel failed to perform at the Box Office. Zachary Levi also clarifies his relationship with the creator of the Snyderverse.

After the film gave a dreary performance on the opening weekend, theChuckactor discussed the film with fans on Twitter. One of the fans stated how unfortunate it was for the sequel to be a flop at the Box Office. The fan continued, saying Snyder fans should not be blamed because they are a minority, and the franchise suffered because there are too many chefs in DC. However, another fanpointed outto Zachary Levi that the Snyder fans are indeed glad for the failure of Levi’s sequel, and wished that“everything that is to come fails just for not continuing with the films of their director.”Zachary Leviagreed with the fan but he pointed out that the main reason the sequel failed was that it was not well marketed, and it is just a“shame.”
“This is also true. Sad, but true. How much that actually affects the box office is anyone’s guess. But I think the biggest issue we’re having is marketing. This is a perfect family movie, and yet a lot of families aren’t aware of that. Which is just a shame.”
Zachary Leviaddressedthe Snyder fans stating that he does not have any problem and he loves Zack Snyder’s movies, as he has“been to nearly all his movies myself.”But the actor pointed out how much he is annoyed because“it’s not what they want.”
“I’m not judging you, brother. I actually love you. I really do.I have no issue with Snyder fans. Heck, I’ve been to nearly all his movies myself. My issue is with anyone who wishes to destroy something, simply because it’s not what they want. That comes from hate, not love.”
Considering that the DC Universe is getting rebooted withThe Flash, the failure ofShazam! Fury of the Godswould be a huge obstacle in James Gunn’s DC Universe. Moreover, with the sequel’s failure the future of Zachary Levi is in doubt, and only time will tell if fans would see the actor as Shazam in future films.

Zachary Levi Believes He would Reprise his Role of Shazam in James Gunn’s DCU
The Snyderverse is coming to an end, and till now we have seen many jaw-dropping departures from DC Studios. And it is unsure which actors and actresses would reprise their roles in Gunn’s DCU. However, theAmerican Underdogactor is quite sure about his future in the new DCU, despite his sequel giving a poor performance at the Box Office.
Levi has been a big fan of James Gunn and he has often stated his admiration for the filmmaker for years, and he is sure that the newly appointed Co-CEO would come up with something that would attract the audience.
“I’ve known James for years and been a fan of his work for years. I think he’s a visionary kind of guy. He really understands world building, and I trust that they’re going to come up with some really cool avenues and directions for all of them. And wherever they collide me into them, I will be stoked.”
In spite of praising James Gunn, it is unsure if fans would see Zachary Levi as Shazam in the new DCU. However, all the fans could do at this point is wait for an official announcement about the actor’s future.
