While Reeves has always been supportive of director Chad Stahelski trying to push the boundaries of action, sometimes even he got frustrated.
The actor has never shied away from films that incorporated unique visuals and stunts. Apart from theJohn Wickfranchise, Reeves’The Matrixfilms brought about a new era in action filmmaking. But now that the star is 58 years old, it looks like he is getting tired of all the tumultuous stunts.
Keanu Reeves Is Tired Of Suffering For TheJohn WickFilms
In an interview with the New York Times forJohn Wick: Chapter 4, director Chad Stahelski explained how tiredKeanu Reeveslooked while performing the iconic action scene on Paris’ Sacré-Coeur Basilica’s 222 steps. He said that the actor’s weary look was partly because of how exhausting it was to do the scene.

Stahelski said:
“That look John Wick gives when he looks at his watch and actually looks up the staircase, I think that’s maybe 50 percent John Wick and 50 percent Keanu Reeves going, ‘Ugh, Stahelski did it to me again.'”
But the director doesn’t mind because according to him suffering is the core of John Wick’s personality. He said,“You got to suffer. That’s what’s fun about John Wick. He suffers and he keeps going.”But is Reeves ready to suffer for moreJohn Wickfilms?

Even afterJohn Wick: Chapter 4, fans aren’t happy. They want to see Keanu Reeves portray the assassin, and moreover, they want to see the breathtaking action sequences that only this franchise seems to offer. But does Reeves want to return? Kind of. He will only return on one condition.

The actor said to Entertainment Weekly:
“I don’t know, I guess I’m going to have to lean on never say never. I mean, I wouldn’t do a John Wick film without Chad Stahelski. We’d have to see what that looked like. For me, it feels really right that John Wick finds peace.”
But fans don’t have to worry just now. Reeves will appear in the Ana de Armas-led spin-off titledBallerina. So with theJohn Wickuniverse expanding, Reeves can definitely continue in more films. However, as the actor implied, it will all depend on whetherChad Stahelskican create something new and meaningful in the franchise or not.
The first threeJohn Wickfilms are available on Amazon Prime Video, andJohn Wick: Chapter 4is in theaters. It will be available digitally from June 17, 2025. No streaming details have been announced yet.
