First-personFortniteis here!Fortnite, the wildly popular third-person shooter multiplayer battle-royale for all ages, is coming out with a first-person mode. Rumored time and time again, the newlyleaked screenshotsshow the first-person shooter perspective within theFortniteengine. Out of the four images, two of them show what’s working as intended such asholding the gun properlyand thegun firingwhile the other two show what needs to be worked on like theaim down sight(ADS) and thereloading animation. Ever since its release,Fortnitehas been a third-person shooter that shows no signs of slowing down in popularity. So, who asked for first-personFortnite?

Fortnitehas been a constant in the battle-royale genre since 2017. It’s available on nearly every platform and is friendly to kids & adults alike. The main feature ofFortnite Battle Royaleis the building mechanics, adding an extra level of strategy and skill to the game. When Epic Games, the developers ofFortnite, released Zero Build Mode in March 2022, it quickly gained popularity within the player base and became apermanent modethe following month.

Even though Zero Build Mode is taking away a core gameplay mechanic ofFortnite, it gives non-build players a mode to play comfortably. They can now enjoyFortnitewithout having to worry about the building mechanics to get victory royales. Some players have saidZero Build Mode savedFortnite.
So, Who Asked For First-Person Fortnite?
Fortniteplayers who likely want first-person mode officially in the game are the Creative Mode 2.0 community. Epic Games launchedCreative Mode 2.0earlier this year, paving the way for more maps, modes, and fun mechanics for the community to tinker with. Once this mode dropped, the community started making maps such asOGFortniteand single-player stories likeForest Guardian. Although there are ahandful of first-person Creative Mode 2.0 maps, the creators of these maps have to go around obstacles to make the game look first-person. And the first-person maps aren’t the best either. Even whencontent creators show “first-person” modeFortnite, it goes back to third-person at some point, making it not a true first-person experience.
To answer: who asked for this? It’s the Creative Mode 2.0 community alongside those in theFortnitecommunity who prefer first-person shooters over third-person. If these photo leaks happen to be true and Epic Games officially implements first-person mode intoFortnite, we could see another Zero Build Mode situation where the community increases once again. A fresh mode introduced for new and old players to enjoy.

What do you think about this new change with first-personFortnite?Do you think it’ll finally happen before the end of this year? Is it even necessary? Let us know in the comments!
