As the release date of the upcoming filmThe Flashinches ever so close on the calendar, the dawn of the new DCU led by DC Films CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran follows closely behind. Thus, fans of the studio and/or of the character of DC Comics are gunning for the film to become an instant success as is being predicted by many.

And while the CEO himself may have been pushing the upcoming flick to be one of the best projects in the outgoing DCEU, it seems like he isn’t too sure about how it is going to turn out in the end. After a recent statement about the future of Ezra Miller and their character was given by the director, many are wondering if he has the same amount of confidence in the upcoming movie he once had.

The decision byJames Gunnand Peter Safran to take down the current DCEU and build their own vision atop the ashes of the old one had taken many fans by surprise, not to mention the controversial firing of Henry Cavill as Superman. But what made theBrightburndirector optimistic about the outgoing regime of DC Films is the upcomingThe Flash,which will completely reset the stage, both for the audience as well as the CEOs of the studios.

There was a lot of hype about what the upcoming film would entail with it, and how it will give a proper send-off to the fallen cinematic universe. With so much praise, most fans were convinced that Gunn would be delighted to bringEzra Millerand his character into his vision of the DCU after this standalone flick, which doesn’t seem to be the case. At the premiere ofGuardians Of the Galaxy Vol. 3,the director was asked what the future holds for Miller.

To this question, Gunn replied, saying:

“We’re just gonna have to wait and see. You know, we’ll see how things go.”

With this statement, Flash fans are wondering whether the upcoming film would live up to expectations or if will it follow the path of failure like many of its predecessors.

What To Expect FromThe Flash?

While the news about James Gunn being in doubt about Flash’s future raised concerns, fans are seeking refuge in the form of the second trailer of the upcoming film, which has hyped many beyond belief. With the introductions of new characters as well as bringing back some faces from the good old days, the short look into what the film actually holds in the store has most of the fandom positive that the upcoming film would help Miller retain the role of the red speedster.
