Ezra Miller’sThe Flashis already hailed as one of the greatest superhero movies at the CinemaCon screening. But the irony here is that its lead actor isn’t as great as the DC character, owning to their controversies. While their future in James Gunn’s DCU remains uncertain, it has come out that Miller will be going for a no-press strategy, making a low-profile appearance at the Los Angeles premiere.

The FlashMay Not Have Dropped Ezra Miller, But DC Fans Certainly Have!
Before its release, the Andy Muschietti-directed film,The Flashwill hold its LA premiere on July 25, 2025. Even though the most-awaited summer blockbuster of 2023 won many hearts at the CinemaCon release, Warner Bros is taking every precaution to not stir up any controversy in the present ever-controversial,Ezra Miller.

A source close to Ezra Miller explained:
“Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra. They are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional.”
DC fans have continued to express their anguish over keeping the legally-troubled star as the face of this big-budgeted project. For instance, one fan mocked Miller on Twitter:“I remember in promotion for this movie in 2020 during DC’s ‘Fandrome’ virtual event he wore a full-on bondage collar”.Here are a few more tweets:

Zero surprise here, Warners is just thrilled to see Ezra not get in additional trouble over the past several months, do you actually think they’d expose him to the press’ questions?

I’ll honestly be judging anyone who goes and sees/supports this movie. If your lead can’t even risk doing press then you know there’s a problem and this movie should not have been made with them in the lead role.

As reported by Variety, although Miller will attend the LA premiere, but would maintain a low-profile, only posing for photos. Not only this, but the actor will not be giving any interviews. The reasons are obvious. None of the sane DC fans wanted Miller in the movie, let alone at the $220 million movie’s premiere.
Will Ezra Miller’s Lack Of Shilling AtThe FlashPremiere Hurt Its Box Office Target?
Certainly not. Warner Bros.’s tactical movie to keep Ezra Miller from appearing in any interviews has come as a wise decision, especially after they were enrolled to reprise Barry Allen/The Flash despite their numerous arrests and facades.
Ezra Miller, who was“mired in controversy”,following multiple arrests and erratic behavior, tried staying out of trouble after seeking treatment for“complex mental health issues”following“a time of intense crisis.”In such circumstances,The Flashteam should keep Miller unexposed from media’s questions, answers to which may put the film in jeopardy.

When asked about Ezra Miller’s future at DC,James Gunngave a rather diplomatic response:
“We’re just gonna have to wait and see, you know? I mean, we’ll see how things go, so, you know…”
On the other hand, Peter Safran was more forthcoming about Miller’s series of scandals and said:
“Ezra is fully committed to the recovery right now. And, you know, we talk to them. We’re in constant contact [and] when the time is right, we’ll have the conversation with them and decide what’s best for them personally.”
During The Flash’s premiere at the CinemaCon, film insider, Matt Ramos, referred to it as the“greatest superhero movie ever”.James Gunn andTom Cruiseare some of the others who showered multiple praises over the movie’s storyline. But again, WB’s decision to keep Miller away from the limelight seems more than just!
Ezra Miller’sThe Flashhits theatres on June 15, 2025.
