Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are often considered one of the most funniest Hollywood couples. The two are also frequent collaborators, and have in the past joined forces for both big and small screens. Initially crossing paths in the ’90s during their time at school, it wasn’t until ’98 that the two properly met each other, as they both attended the same comedy class in Los Angeles.
And while the duo worked together on several projects since tying the knot in 2005, it was the 2011 raunchy comedyBridesmaidsthat would make McCarthy the star she is now. And one of her favorite parts in the film involved accosting Falcone, who played the Air Marshal in the raunchy comedy.

Although getting to work with Ben Falcone was fun already, even though McCarthy joked her partner looked nothing like an Air Marshal, she was further overjoyed on hearing the scene involving him. Ben Falcone, who was cast in the role by producer Judd Apatow, played the Marshal who gets accosted by Melissa McCarthy’s Megan on a plane, which further added to the fun, at least for her. She toldCollider:
“That’s my real-life husband, Ben [Falcone]. I just remember Judd on set one day saying, ‘You know who should play the air marshal? Ben. He doesn’t look anything like an air marshal.’ I was like, ‘I hope you mean that! I really hope you mean that!’ And then, they hired Ben. That was so fun to do! When I thought it couldn’t get any better, they were like, ‘Oh, we’re also going to have your husband play the guy you accost on a plane,’ and I was like, ‘This can never end!’”
Since rising to stardom, McCarthy and Falcone kept on joining forces continually throughout the 2010s, with their last collaboration beingGod’s Favorite Idiot, which did succeed in lifting fans’ spirits.

Melissa McCarthy Would Do aBridesmaids 2in an Instant
Following her experience making 2011’sBridesmaids, whose experience she deemed magical,Melissa McCarthyrevealed that she would be down for a sequel whenever it gets greenlit. She toldPeople:
“I would do a Bridesmaids sequel this afternoon, right now. That group of women was the most magical thing ever. Almost all of us were really good friends already. I think it was such a magical time.”

Unfortunately for fans and McCarthy, a sequel to the classic is unlikely as director Paul Feig explained that they’ve already told the narrative they wanted to tell. And while it isn’t entirely off the cards, leaving the acclaimed raunchy comedy’s legacy untouched is probably the right call, as in the landscape of comedy, sequels often don’t end up well.
