He is unable to remember the faces and conversations in his head, which makes people feel he is disrespectful or egoistic. Pitt tries to hold on to the information however, his memory fails him.

To tackle the issue, he decided to experiment by tricking the people he had forgotten to make them believe that he remembered them. Brad Pitt shared in a conversation withEsquire,

“So many people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them. So I swear to God, I took one year where I just said, This year, I’m just going to cop to it and say to people, ‘Okay, where did we meet?’ But it just got worse. People were more offended. Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I’ll say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But I piss more people off. You get this thing, like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.’ But it’s a mystery to me, man. I can’t grasp a face and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested.”

Owing to the issues with face recognition,Brad Pitthas become more private over the years and prevents social contact.

Brad Pitt might be suffering from prosopagnosia

According to Dr. Salman Azhar, a neurologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, Brad Pitt likely has the developmental form of prosopagnosia or ‘face blindness’. The developmental prosopagnosia means that he had it from early childhood, and not caused due to an injury.

The doctor shared about Brad Pitt withHealthline,

“He’s always had this difficulty of recognizing faces. So, he sees the face, but he has no ability to connect it to who that face is.”

Pitt is convinced that he has that condition he read about a few years ago,prosopagnosia.The star’s suffering has gotten to the point where he doesn’t like going out. He said toEsquire,

“That’s why I stay at home. You meet so many damned people. And then you meet ’em again.”

In conversation withGQ, he shared about dealing with a rare issue,

“Nobody believes me! I wanna meet another.”

Moneyballstar is not at all aloof or reserved, as it appears because he does not have control over his issue of face blindness.

The megastar will be seen alongside George Clooney inWolvesby 2024, which he has co-produced with him.
