It’s been more than two years since Season 1 ofInvincible, the animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s popular comic book series, concluded. However, fans shouldn’t expect the makers to spend a lot of time recapping the story when the show returns on November 3. But one thing is for sure, Robert Kirkman doesn’t try to make things as real as possible like the MCU does.

InvincibleCreator Points Out The Main Issue With MCU

During an interview with Variety,Robert Kirkmanwas asked whether any audience feedback to Season 1 influenced his approach towards the second season of the animated show. Kirkman responded by saying that the audience’s reaction pushed him to set new benchmarks. He also asserted how the show fully retains all the aspects of superhero comics.

He also pointed out how MCU often tries to smoothen things up to provide a more realistic them, avoiding scenarios where the superheroes are interacting with other worldly beings.MCU tries to be cautious, playing too safe by overlooking the weird essence that comic books carry.

Invincible first came out in 2003

Kirkman toldVariety:

“I think it made me willing to push things further. One of the secret sauces of “Invincible” is that we embrace everything about superhero comics. There’s a distillation that happens with the MCU, where they shave the edges off to make everything as real-world as possible. Like, you’re never going to see Robert Downey Jr. having a conversation with a fish person in the MCU.”

Kirkman also pointed that, for him, comic book tradition means involving moments like Superman having to tie the knot with a mermaid. He expressed his inclination towards unconventional elements, noting that comic fans would appreciate such moments too.

John Wick Fan Theory Finally Explains One Fatal Loophole in the Keanu Reeves Franchise That Originally Started as a Joke

“I’ve seen animatics of every episode (in season 3). So I’ve seen things moving. I’ve seen the actors all edited together. I’ve seen our amazing directing crew and all the board artists have some form of the show together. And so I’ve seen the entire season in rough form, laid out. I’ve seen all the movements I’ve seen where the season ends up and it’s really cool. Like I say, it, it’s an escalating show. Season one was where it’s at, season two is where it’s at. Season three is a little bit higher.”

Fans of the series will be excited by this new piece of information, increasing their anticipation for the upcoming season. It’s still unclear whether the second season will be able to match the success of the first one and set the stage for more engaging storylines.
