The news of Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness splitting after 27 years of marriage has dominated the recent headlines. Thankfully, there is no bad blood developed between the couple and the decision to separate was totally mutual.
The duo developed a love interest after their first meet in 1995, while Jackman was a rising actor, Furness had her name embedded in the list of popular celebrities. The duo got married in 1996, and now announced their split.

Hugh Jackman And Deborra-Lee Furness Announced Their Separation
After spending 27 years together, Hollywood coupleHugh Jackman, 54, AndDeborra-Lee Furness, 67, decided to end their relationship in mutual consent. In a recent statement toPeople, the duo revealed their reason for the split.“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,”the duo told the outlet.
“Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”
Despite their split, the former couple will maintain a good friendship as they have not engaged in any fight, at least there is not any report of that.

The Duo Has No Regrets
After calling it quit, the duo seems to move on just fine.“Hugh and Deborra-Lee are both on different pages and in separate chapters of their lives,”a source toldET(via9 News). They felt“like it was time to divorce, but they still maintain a happy and cordial friendship,”they added.
“They only want the best for one another. They are appreciative of their many years together and children and there is no animosity between them. At the end of the day, it was their collective agreement to go their separate ways and do the healthiest thing for everyone involved.”
Even after their separation, the former couple will prioritize their family but the duo will walk the long road exploring further possibilities. Jackman will appear in MCU’s most hyped movieDeadpool 3and James Hawes’ thrillerThe Amateur,both the movies are set to hit the theatres in 2024.
