“I tried so many times to go to Hollywood, but after that, I said no more Hollywood because my English is not good, they’re not my culture, they don’t like this kind of action. My manager said look, there’s a script, and it’s called Rush Hour. I said no, Hong Kong police? I’m not going to do it. He said Jackie, why don’t you try last time. I said okay, this is the last time.”

The rest is history as the film helped him get his footing in Hollywood. Even though the update aboutRush Hour 4made fans smile, Chan also said that “the script isn’t right.”This worried many as the main criticism about part 3 was that it offered nothing new and felt like a rehash of the first two. As such, fans are now wondering if the film will ever even get made.

WhyRush Hour 4Will Probably Remain A Pipe Dream
Seeing Jackie Chan andChris Tuckerback in theRush Hourfranchise will be a dream come true for many, but part 4 might not get made anymore. For one, 16 years have passed since the third part was released in theaters. Also, no director or scriptwriter has been publicly attached to the project.

The trilogy was originally directed by Brett Ratner, but it looks like he won’t be coming back to direct after the allegations of sexual harassment against him. So someone new would have to reinvent the franchise. However, it’s not an easy task. Also,The Forbidden Kingdomactor has said that he won’t makeRush Hour 4just for the sake of making it.
Chan said,“I don’t want to do a rubbish script just because they want to make a movie.”To make matters worse, the actor is now 69 years old and Chris Tucker is 51 years old. As such, they might be too old to star in the film and pull off the action sequences by the time the film gets made. So is the film dead in the water? Possibly. But fans aren’t losing hope.
TheRush Hourfilms are available on Amazon Prime Video.
