Downey Jr. married Susan Levin back in 2005 and they both continued to support each other throughout the tough times. Finding fame in 2008,Robert Downey Jr.starred in the iconic role ofIron Manand his career has been going uphill ever since. Through money and fame, the actor never left his wife’s side, however, as they both recently celebrated their 18th marriage anniversary.
Taking to his Instagram, the actor shared a throwback photo of their wedding day where theSherlock Holmesactor is seen nuzzling close to Susan Downey’s face. The second photo shows a similar closeness and comfort as Downey Jr. wrote in the caption,“18 years, love still in bloom!!”.

Although it wasn’t love at first sight, Susan Downey recalled the first time she laid eyes on the actor back in 2003 when they were filmingGothika.Starring Halle Berry and Downey Jr. in the leads, Susan Downey (then Susan Levin) served as the producer of the movie. In an interview, she revealed that when they had lunch, she found Downey quite weird but interesting.
“We were up in Montreal prepping for Gothika, and we had lunch with the director and Halle Berry. Everybody else ordered Japanese, but Robert told us how oatmeal was the ‘superfood.’ He brought his own packets of oatmeal to have at lunch. And he had this box of various herbs and stuff. And then he started doing these yoga moves. I mean, he was interesting but weird.”
