The spectacular concept art of Dark Flash in the Andrés Muschietti-helmed film reveals a look at the villainous,“other”Barry Allen, who is also rumored to be the antagonist inThe Flash. While it doesn’t reveal any major plot details, the costume design of Dark Flash does seem to bear an uncanny resemblance to the character of Daniel West, who appears as the third Reverse Flash in the comics.

Dark Flash As the Villain inThe Flash
Rumors about Dark Flash serving as the plot’s central villain have been going around for quite a long time now. Back in January 2020, Muschietti also mentioned how the“Flashpoint”storyline from the comics was to inspire the upcoming movie’s plot to a great extent. But no concrete details with regard to the same were provided.

In the comics, the“Flashpoint”plotline revolved around Barry Allen himself being the antagonist, despite blaming his arch nemesis, Reverse-Flash for all the damage that came undone. While the Dark Flash could very well be Danny given the latter is a supervillain, it is also plausible for him to be an evil variant of Barry Allen instead, like Savitar who featured in season 3 of The CW’sThe Flashtelevision series.
At the end of the day though, only time will tell how the film will showcase Dark Flash and in what light. No pun intended.
The Flashis scheduled to release on June 22, 2025.
