In the Netflix showOne Piece, fans really like how Monkey D. Luffy’s rubber powers are shown. These powers come from a special fruit he eats in the story. People love the actors in the show because they act like the characters in a way that feels right.

One of the show director Marc Jobst thought it was important to choose actors who could do emotional scenes well and also handle the action parts of the show.
And for it before playing Monkey D. Luffy, Iñaki Godoy took care of some things to be more like the character in the anime and manga.

Iñaki Godoy’s Joyful Approach to Portraying Luffy’s Character
In a recent interview (conducted byStream Wars), where Iñaki Godoy, the star of Netflix’sOne Piece, talks about what happened on his first and last days while filming the Netflix live-action series.
After being asked about his first day showing a scene (where Luffy breaks into the Marine base) from episode 1, the Luffy’s actor said:

“It was a very exciting day, it was also a day in which i was very nervous. I obviously wanted honor Luffy and honor One Piece and i knew it was a big responsibility and then i just get here and there’s like a bunch of Marines, this giant town that they just built for the show and I’m just there with my Strawhat and now it’s like well it’s time to be Luffy.”
He further added:
“The main thing for Luffy at least for me is that he always has fun. If i was able to have fun and enjoy shooting then that would translate into my character.”
Godoy said he felt very nervous because it was a big responsibility to act like Luffy from the manga/anime. He focused on making sure that Luffy always has fun when fighting or sailing. So, during filming, he aimed to have fun too, to match Luffy’s joyful character in the anime.

Further in the same interview, the actor also disclosed that he had no prior experience with stunts before working onOne Piece. He mentioned:
“Before filming One Piece, I didn’t really have any stunt experience, the stunt team are amazing and they taught me a lot of things by the time I did my last fight scene the stunt team knew they could trust me and i knew i could trust myself to do crazy creative things.”

The actor revealed that before filmingOne Piece, he didn’t have much experience with stunts. The stunt team was fantastic and taught him many things. By the time he did his last fight scene, the stunt team trusted him, and he trusted himself to do wild and creative actions.
