Mel Gibsonjoined the star-studded cast ofThe Expendablesin its third installment. Gibson’s character, Conrad Stonebanks played a pivotal role in the film as the formidable enemy toSylvester Stallone‘s Barney Ross. TheApocalyptostar added some great value to the script ofThe Expendables 3. Moreover, theRambostar shared that he felt thatThe Passion of the Christstar nailed his part in the film.

“I think what gave it some heart is that he was saying something that had some truth, and it was valid, and I don’t believe he saw himself as the bad guy. But then you bring in the aspect of Cain and Abel, and two best friends becoming the worst of enemies, because usually when you love something that much, you can also hate it even more, because of that schism, that breakup. Mel just killed it. In that scene, I had some dialogue back and forth with him, but the more he did the scene, the more I realized that I shouldn’t speak. So I just let him roll.”

Sylvester Stallone Felt Great Being Punched By Mel Gibson

As fans eagerly awaited the much-anticipated confrontation between Conrad Stonebanks and Barney Ross, Stallone and Gibson did not disappoint their fans with their intense fight scene. Sylvester Stallone shared that his fight scenes with Gibson had actual contact and he felt great being punched by theBraveheartstar. However, Mel Gibson added that there was no actual contact during their fight scenes. Gibson though was interrupted by Stallone who marked the superstar’s statement as a pure lie.

“It’s a good fight. You know, there are situations in sports where two rivalries get together, two teams that have done very well in their own world. Then you wonder how they would do against each other. When that finally happens, it becomes an event… That’s right. Contact is made, and you do get hurt, and it’s freezing, and you don’t want to do [the scene] again but you have to do it again. But Mel is very fast and he’s very strong and it was great being punched by him…That’s a bald-faced lie.”
