Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of Hollywood’s biggest names. His on- and off-screen camaraderie with co-actors and sense of humor with fans have held him in good stead in public opinion largely, but his recent push to promote his superhero avatar Black Adam in the DCU was met with a lot of negative backlashes.

The Rock’s fans obviously take a lot of interest in the wrestler-turned-actor, and his portrayal of the titular character inBlack Adam (2022)widened his horizons even further, it would seem. Behind the scenes, however, a lot of work goes into making the Rock look as sculpted as he is, and two members of that team are his physical trainer Dave Rienzi, and Johnson’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia.
The Rock’s physical trainer is married to his ex-wife
Hollywood superstar Dwayne ‘the Rock’ Johnson divorced his wife and managerDany Garciaamicably in 2008, after over a decade of working together. After the split, Johnson took to first dating and then marrying Lauren Hashian, while Garcia went on to marry The Rock’s personal physical trainer Dave Rienzi.

Garcia kept working as a global strategic advisor to Johnson even after the split and oversees several brands by running multiple businesses in control of them, working not just for Johnson but also for other big names, like Henry Cavill. Her husband Rienzi, on the other hand, works for both Johnson and Garcia: he is the Chief Health and Fitness Brand Officer of The Garcia Companies, while also training The Rock.

The divorce betweenDwayne Johnsonand Dany Garcia was far from unpleasant. The two recognized their evolving relationship and decided to part ways, but managed to keep close personal and business ties, while also raising a child together. In fact, Johnson was reportedly very happy that Garcia got together with his trainer, and that she had found love again.

Garcia, on the other hand, expressly recognized that her now-husband Dave Rienzi did not mind her ex’s star status.
“He was never perturbed by who was my former husband. That means nothing to him. He’s about the quality of the person. There’s a tremendous amount of respect. When people say: ‘How do you do it all?’ It comes down to respect,”said Garcia, when asked about what Rienzi felt about Johnson as his wife’s ex.
Rienzi and Garcia reportedly got together back in 2014, while Johnson and Hashian tied the knot in 2019 after a long period of dating each other. Both appear to be very happy in their new relationships and have managed to deepen business ties with each other into making The Rock’s brand a very successful one together over time.
