Starfield, the latest AAA blockbuster from Bethesda, is a space-themed action roleplaying game where you can flick between first-person and third-person shooting, travel through the universe from planet to planet, and on these planets, pick up main story missions as well as side quests to gain more XP as you travel through the depths of the unknown.

You’ll no doubt be aware of the record-breaking performance of the game, and that’s in no large part down to the ingenuity of its design. Whether it’s helping different factions fighting anyone from space pirates to an alien species, recruiting NPCs to help you fight and explore your way through the universe or picking up materials and upgrading weapons, there is always something to do, much like the previous franchise from Bethesda,Fallout.
“Enjoying Starfield, one thing about Bethesda games…”: Red Dead Redemption 2’s Roger Clark Gives Starfield a HUGE Compliment

Starfield is Big, but it Could Have Been Bigger
StarfieldcreatorsBethesdaand the creative team within had discussed the potential of a ‘Bethesdaverse’ whereStarfieldwould effectively meet withFallout. Starfield’sEarth is a wasteland similar to that featured in the post-apocalyptic wastelands of theFalloutfranchise and Todd Howard decided to tease fans in a recent interview about the ‘Bethesdaverse’ idea“We talked about it,”.
Unfortunately though, like“hundreds”of other ideas that didn’t make it into the finished product and this could be for many reasons;Starfieldis set roughly four decades afterFallout 4, development was made difficult and hampered by Covid19, due to everyone having to work from home, something Todd Howard has spoken about before, or the developers just didn’t want to do it.

Are there enough similarities between the two universes other than the aesthetics alone? Has there been enough time between the ‘Great War’ resetting human progress and technology, and the future tech and space travel presented inStarfield?Probably not. Could Todd Howard be hinting at a future where these universes collide, which would surely make many Bethesda fans minds explode from excitement? Bringing any universes together would have always been a tough ask let alone these two massive franchises, But if anyone could do it, it’d be the mind of Todd Howard and the capabilities of the development team of Bethesda.

What do you think? Are you happy with the idea of mergingFallout 4andStarfield, if only for the sale of one planet, out of a thousand? Let us know in the comments!

I’m a father first, gamer second, but I do love gaming. I own multiple consoles and if I have a second, one of them is switched on. Between Marvel, Spurs and gaming I’m a stereotypical nerd.
