Many reports had emerged regarding their separation. However, in an interview with Elle magazine in 2022, Ana De Armas dispelled all the rumors surrounding the relationship. The Cuban star, who is currently based out of New York, has mentioned that being in Los Angeles at the time and receiving constant media scrutiny really took a toll on her.
Explaining her views about the culture of LA, Ana De Armas said,
“It became a little bit too much. There’s no escape. There’s no way out… It’s always the feeling of something that you don’t have, something missing. It’s a city that keeps you anxious.”
The actress said that she had heard about the city from others before, but after experiencing it herself, she realized that it was not the place for her. She also revealed in the interview that the publicized nature of her relationship with Affleck was ‘horrible’ and was part of the reason why she left LA.
