In a candid interview with CNN,Sharon Stonerecalled a peculiar incident that occurred right after the release of her movie, which left her devastated and scared. She claimed that before she starred in this film, people hardly used to recognize her in public, but afterBasic Instincthit theaters, she received insane attention from the media and her fans. Stone narrated an anecdote when fans climbed over her car to catch a glimpse of her. She told the outlet,
“On Friday, when that movie came out, that I would be basically a nobody. And on Tuesday, I would go to get my eyeglasses picked up on Sunset Plaza. And I would come out in my little 325 BMW.”

She continued,
“And I would stop at the stoplight, and everybody would climb all over my car. And then the light would turn green, and cars would start beeping, and I wouldn’t know. Is it legal to drive? When people are all over the top of your car?”
The actress further revealed that fans became overly aggressive, and at the time, she pleaded with them to stop “tearing clothes off her body and grabbing and ripping her hair.”
