In recent years, shows involving a sketchy lawyer at the forefront have been rising to prominence, includingBetter Call Sauland the legal dramedySuits, starring Meghan Markle. Originally airing back in 2011 on the USA Network, the Markle-led show ran for 9 seasons before concluding in 2019 and is currently smashing viewership records on Netflix.

Reflecting on the sudden upsurge in the viewership of the show, creator Aaron Korsh gave insight into the line that was removed from the legal drama following the Royal Family’s influence.

Being Forced to Change Meghan Markle’s Dialogue Was Irritating forSuits’ Creator
While Aarin Korsh had full creative control over his show for the most part, missing out on the opportunity to add one specific word really bugged the creator. The Showrunner recounted the time he initially wanted to make Meghan Markle’s character say“poppycock”, but was denied by the Royal Family, as Markle was engaged with Prince Harry at the time. Although he had no idea how the Royal Family got their hands on the show’s script, resorting to Rachel saying “bullsh-t” was irritating, as Korsh promised his inlaws Poppycock“was going to be in the show”.
Speaking withTHR, he clarified that it wasn’t Meghan Markle, who told him that she wouldn’t utter the word, stating that he couldn’t recall who it was. Korsh further explained that he did understand the reason why he wasn’t allowed to do that, stating,

“But listen, when they explained it that way, and I’m pretty sure it got explained to me that it was about that [splicing potential], I had some sympathy because I wouldn’t want somebody doing that to her either. And the thing is, I didn’t think anybody really would, but also I don’t know. People are crazy.”
Fortunately, the exclusion of the word didn’t impact the show’s overall success, which enjoyed success among critics throughout its run, and thanks to Netflix, new viewers are tuning in to it.

ASuitsReboot Is Unlikely per Aaron Korsh
Following the resurgence of the drama, including Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle, fans are now hoping for a reboot or reunion involving the original cast. And while Creator Korsh hasn’t shut down the possibilities of a reboot, this isn’t exactly the showrunner’s priority“creatively”. Taking toX, formerly known as Twitter, he explained,
Let me say right off that there is no#Suitsreboot or anything in the works. Strike would have to end, some network or streamer would have to reach out and then we would have to collectively want to. Which is no small thing…
