A new leak has revealed details of the One UI 8 update based on Android 16, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

One UI 8 Screenshots Leak Ahead of Launch

A new report bySmartPrixhas revealed the first look at One UI 8. Samsung’s upcoming software mostly builds on the foundation of One UI 7.

The One UI 8 build spotted running on aSamsung Galaxy Z Fold 6unit showcases the evolved design language. We can see the new user interface in the Gallery and File Manager app.

The File Manager has rounded corners around the icon. The categories section looks cleaner and visually appealing, taking up less space compared to One UI 7.

Similarly, the gallery app in One UI 8 has minor changes with a better user interface. There is a new option for Shared Albums and a clean-out feature.

Furthermore, the rest of the user interface looks cleaner with a Gaussian blur and rounded corners around it. The report also claims that there aren’t any major changes since One UI 8 is currently in the early stages.

One UI 8 seems to be mostly an interactive update ironing out the inconsistencies in the user interface. Since Samsung has been working on One UI 7 for almost the past two years, it would be too much to expect a major change.

Now Brief Is Coming to Older Samsung Phones

The report also reveals that the Now Brief feature, which made its debut on the S25 series, is also coming to older phones. Previously, many reports claimed that it would be exclusive to the S25 series, although Samsung seems to have changed its mind.

For those unaware, Now Brief is apersonalized daily briefingcentered around your data. It can show you the weather, health stats from Samsung Health, photos that you have captured, and more.

With the One UI 8 update, the feature will be coming to older Samsung phones, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6. Interestingly, the build number F956BXXU2CYD7 for Z Fold 6 already has the feature.

Based on the leaks and rumours that Samsung is planning to roll out One UI 8 quicker than last year, it’s no surprise that it is mostly an iterative upgrade. One UI 8 is likely to be released in June, the same timeline as Google.
