This title is currently held by Dracule Mihawk and Roronoa Zoro is on his way to earning that title. The ultimate objective for Zoro is to defeat the present strongest swordsman, none other than Dracule Mihawk.
In the Baratie arc, Mihawk, also referred to by his nickname, Hawk Eyes, introduced himself to the audience and gave them a taste of what the anime character was capable of. As is well known to fans, Mihawk is a swordsman of extraordinary power, on par with the Yonko.
Still, there might be a swordsman out there who possesses even more strength than Mihawk in terms of sword skills. The fans have just learned about his true potential, and by the looks of it, he may even surpass Mihawk in terms of strength and skill. It is none other than Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro.

Who is Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro?
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, also known as the Warrior God of Finance, is one of the Five Elders who formally lead the World Government. He is one of the main antagonists of the entireOne Pieceseries, particularly in its Final Saga, along with the other Elders.
Among the select few who hold the “highest authority of the World Government,” Nusjuro is a member of the Five Elders and is superior to even the World Nobles. Every aspect of the World Government is under his authority, including the police, the Marines, Cypher Pol, and even the Fleet Admiral of the Marines.
Nusjuro always carries a long katana in his possession. It has a saya that looks very wooden and a tsuba that resembles a rounded-out cross pattée, which is suggestive of the Kitetsu line of swords that originated in Wano.

Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro Might Be The Strongest Swordsman inOne Piece
It was recently discovered that every user of the Five Elders was an extremely powerful character, with strength that may even exceed that of the Yonko, during the battle with Sabo in Reverie. Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, the bearer of one of the Supreme Grade Weapons, Shodai Kitetsu, is probably the strongest of the Five Elders. The cursed Kitetsu line of blades is renowned for bringing a horrible demise to whoever wields one.
The fact that V. Nusjuro has had this cursed blade for such a long time simply indicates how well he has been able to control and shape it to suit his needs. Furthermore, it appears that he possesses an extremely powerful Devil Fruit that has awakened, and looking at Saturn’s Devil Fruit abilities, it is confirmed that all the five elders’s devil Fruits are insanely powerful.
This means that if Zoro needs to be the strongest swordsman, he not only has to defeat Mihawk but also has to fight Nusjuro and overpower him. Then only he can successfully attain the title of the strongest swordsman inOne Piece.
