It is quite common for an anime or manga series to get a gaming adaptation. However, a game getting a manga spin-off is quite rare. And that too a game likeDetroit: Become Humanis considered one of the greatest games ever yet to be released on Xbox. In May 2018, Sony Interactive Entertainment released the game for the PlayStation 4.

In December 2019, Quantic Dream released the game for Windows users. The game has a great storyline and a unique theme which makes the game perfect for an anime or TV series, instead, the game got a manga adaptation that followed a similar storyline and was developed in the same universe.
Detroit: Become Human received great reviews from critics and fans, who praised the overall narrative, setting, characters, voice actors, and structure that affected the presentation of the plot. The game’s manga spin-off series is quite interesting and being in the same universe gives the series an advantage in terms of the storyline.

Quantic Dream is the developer of the adventure gameDetroit: Become Human, released in 2018. The game is the fifth game and fourth interactive drama produced by the company written and directed by David Cage, co-founder and chief executive officer of Quantic Dream.
The story revolves around three androids namely Markus, who dedicates his life to saving androids who are captured; Connor, who is in search of sentient androids; and Kara, who is on a mission to save a young girl and discovers about herself after escaping from the creator. This is a third-person controlled and predetermined adventure game.

Players take part in the development of the story by making decisions based on the choices given. By January 2023, the game had become Quantic Dream’s best-seller with 8 million units sold. The game’s manga spin-off series is not known to many fans although hardcore fans and players of the game might be interested in the series as it gives a new perspective to the same universe.

Detroit: Become HumanGame Manga Spin-Off
Detroit: Become Human Tokyo Stories, a spin-off manga series, was announced for the game on August 03, 2025. The manga series is set in Tokyo, Japan, and it portrays the treatment and the attitudes of the city towards androids. It was written by Saruwatari Kazami and illustrated by Moto Sumida.
The manga spinoff portrays an overall positive attitude towards androids thanDetroit: Become Human, at least at first. One android character from the series has also achieved her dream of becoming a popular pop star in the same universe. However, when people see that the androids are taking over their daily jobs, the populace becomes increasingly agitated, and ends up showing a similar narrative as the originalDetroit: Become Humangame, and a revolution arises from the conflict between androids and people of the city.

On Jun 10, 2025, it started to serialize on Kadokawa’s Comic Bridge manga website. Detroit: Become Human is set in Japan and a new location adds a new twist and a kind of broader perspective to the already popular game and the concept of androids vs humans.
