Esai Morales, the actor portraying the villainous Gabriel inMission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, recently divulged his thoughts on what makes his character so “ferocious.” During an interview with Fandango, Morales delved into the significance of villains in films, emphasizing their crucial role in showcasing the heroism of the protagonists.

Esai Morales To Bring A New Challenge For Tom Cruise

Esai Moralesexpressed his belief that heroes require formidable adversaries in order to truly demonstrate their mettle. According to him, the greater the challenge faced by the hero, the more significant their triumph becomes. He emphasized the necessity of having an imposing and fierce opponent, rather than a mere obstacle, to create a compelling narrative dynamic.

“I think your heroes, the more formidable a foe your hero has the bigger the mountain. And you can’t have a hill. You need something ferocious.”

Morales proceeded to describe his approach to portraying such ferocity on screen, revealing that he draws from personal experiences of pain and moments where he had to summon profound strength.

“I think that McQuarrie and Tom know how to capture that, and edit it, and put it together in a way that leaves a lasting impact,”he continued. “The movie is haunting. The character I play is haunting.”
