Hugh Jackman made his breakthrough in the film industry with his much-loved role of Logan inX-Men(2000). However, like many others, Jackman was not always a popular name in the film industry. Before making a debut in the movies, the actor used to make ends meet by working as a party clown, named Coco the Clown. This news was shared by the actor himself with a throwback photo, geared up as a clown.
But to make things worse, the now beloved actor was not really well equipped with any magic tricks. He mentioned that the little kids hated them however he was well-liked by toddlers.

Hugh Jackman’s stint as a party clown
Hugh Jackman, who was once better known as Coco the Clown, shared his experience with clowning as a way to earn money. While the actor possesses a great talent for acting as evident by his movies, magic didn’t seem to be the Emmy award-winning actor’s cup of tea.
“I was Coco the Clown, and I had no magic tricks,”he talked about his experience.“And I remember a 6-year-old standing up at a party saying, ‘Mummy this clown is terrible, he doesn’t know any tricks’—and he was right.”
While 3-4-year-olds were not the biggest fan of Coco the Clown, his juggling skills did not go underappreciated by toddlers as he mentioned to Howard Stern.
Talking about his last day as a clown, Jackman said,
“The last gig I ever did, an 8-year-old’s party. Now, that’s tough. I remember the kid going, ‘Mom! This clown is crap!’ And I was like, ‘Shut up, kid!’ And I looked in my bag, and I would sometimes juggle an egg, and I would break it in my hand. And I just got out three eggs, and it broke. And it ended up with the kids having the eggs, throwing them at me. And that was working! They loved it. And piling and beating the sh*t out of me. Jumping on top of me. It was pathetic, but they were happy. I was looking at my watch, like ‘!0 minutes to go.’ And that was it. Never went back again.”

Looking back at his stint as a professional clown, it would not be wrong to say that Hugh Jackman has come a long way.

Hugh Jackman, who once wasn’t a very popular name known worldwide, has a way of beating all odds. The actor was initially restricted to acting in his home country, however, his acting was appreciated after he appeared in the musical drama,‘Oklahoma!’staged at London’s West End.
But what came as the actor’s real breakthrough was being cast inX-Men. His role as Wolverine, who was the lead actor in the movie, made him a star worldwide. The actor continued to appear in the franchise, his apparent last appearance in it was when he returned as Wolverine inLogan(2017).
Talking about Hughman’s earnings at the box office, his most famous starrer theX-Menfranchise grossed over $2.3 billion. Aside from that, he successfully appeared in other movies such asKate & Leopold(2001),Van Helsing(2004),Real Steel(2011), andLes Miserables(2012).

Hugh Jackman will reportedly reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcomingDeadpool3 besides Ryan Reynolds. The movie is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 08, 2025.
