TheShazamstar also opened up about his experience during his time in MCU’sThor: The Dark World.

The actor has repeatedly expressed his love for MCU and has auditioned for several substantial roles, including Captain America and Star-Lord. However, he wasn’t quite satisfied with the role he was eventually assigned and claimed that he was allegedly deceived by the studios into playing it.

Zachary Levi was skeptical about playing the role of Fandral in MCU

While speaking with Josh Horowitz,Zachary Levirevealed that he once auditioned for the role of Captain America but eventually lost the role as he didn’t carry sufficient energy to pull it off. However, after he was offered the role of Fandral in the MCU, theShazamstar was skeptical about taking the role as the actor thought he wouldn’t be able to land any other substantial role in the MCU. He said,

“I was like ‘Hey, listen I also don’t want this to preclude me from being able to be another character. If this is the only chip I get to play, then thanks, but I would rather wait for something else.’”

The actor later expressed that even though he was initially interested in the role, but after witnessing the treatment of the character in the firstThormovie, he wasn’t keen on playing it. However, it seems that Kevin Feige allegedly deceived Levi into playing the character inThor: The Dark World.

Kevin Feige deceived the actor into playing Fandral inThor: The Dark World

Following his skepticism toward playing the character, theShazamstar revealed that Kevin Feige allegedly assured him that the character will have a larger purpose in the movie. Although Feige eventually convinced Levi for the role of Fandral, Levi was left disappointed after witnessing the wasted potential of his character in the sequel. He said,

“He’s like, ‘No, no, you know Chris [Evans] was Johnny Storm, and then he got to be Captain America. So it was kind of saying, it could happen, but also I was like, ‘Whatever…Anyway, point is, ultimately, it seemed like it would all be fine. So I did the film, The Warriors Three weren’t really used all as much as I hoped they were going to be used, but I appreciated the job.”
