And with Hugh Jackman inDeadpool 3, it is confirmed that MCU is planning to include mutants into the MCU. However, this may not happen anytime soon. Marvel Studios has already announced every movie and show for two upcoming years. This two-year plan includes a number of shows and movies, but none of them are specifically aboutX-Men.

Considering this, MCU may not have plans to introduceX-Menfor the next two years. Although it is confirmed that MCU will introduce more mutants into the MCU as the studio has already gained rights to X-Men characters and Fantastic Four. The studio has announced Fantastic Four at the D23 Expo, which will be directed by Matt Shakman.

Marvel Studios is Not Planning to Introduce X-Men into the MCU Now
MCU has had multiple mutant appearances in some of its recent movies and shows. From Professor X inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessto Wolverine’s Easter egg in theShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law.All these cameos, easter eggs, andMs. Marvelhave confirmed the existence of mutants in the MCU.
Looking at it all together seems like Marvel is laying the groundwork for theX-Menin the MCU. However, the studio may not introduce them in the MCU anytime soon. The studio did not announce anyX-Men-related projects at the D23 Expo while announcing the two upcoming phases of the MCU.

Marvel Reportedly Hired a Writer For X-Men
Following the presentation at the 2022 D23 Expo, reports revealed that Marvel Studios has started working on introducingX-Meninto the MCU. According to a senior Deadline reporter, Justin Kroll, Marvel hired a writer for its future projects based on the mutants. He further says that the movie may not happen for a long time, but the studio is surely planning something forX-Men’sfuture in the MCU.
He did not reveal who has been hired by the studio and mentioned not to expect any casting announcement in the near future. Marvel has not made any official announcements yet, but all this is just enough to assume that following phase 6, Marvel has plans to introduce them into the MCU.

The reason why Marvel is not planning to introduceX-Meninto the MCU could be a whole new set of characters that are being introduced into the Multiverse saga. Phase 5 and Phase 6 will have a series of new characters and this could be the reason why the studio decided not to introduceX-Mentill phase 6.
Now that Hugh Jackman is confirmed to appear inDeadpool 3, and with the numerous mentions of mutants in the MCU, fans can expect to see more mutants in the MCU following phase 6.
Deadpool 3is set to hit theatres on June 20, 2025.
