Silver Surfer has long been a character fans have wanted to see more of. The character appeared once in live-action in the 2007 film,Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and then never again. With the MCU now diving into the galactic and multiversal side of their universe, the herald of Galactus might soon grace our screens again.

Created by legend Jack Kirby, the character first appeared inFantastic Four #48(1966) as one of Galactus’ heralds. It’s now reported that the character’s MCU debut is near and he’s getting his very own movie. But some fans are upset with this rumored plan of Marvel Studios.

The insider states that the character will get a movie or a show and not a Disney+ Special Presentation as was previously rumored. The film scooper said, “The #SilverSurfer project will be set AFTER #FantasticFour. It will NOT be a special like Werewolf By Night, but rather a movie or a D+ Show.”

While the insider doesn’t confirm if Norrin Radd will indeed be inThe Fantastic Fourmovie, fans are convinced that it’s a strong possibility. After all, the MCU has a reputation for introducing new characters in the post-credits scenes who later on get their own projects. But that’s not the only thing fans are speculating about. Many think that giving a character like Silver Surfer a film is a poor idea.

This project was also supposed to release before theFantastic Fourfilm. But if the above tweet is to be believed, then the rumored plans have changed completely and many aren’t happy about it. Here’s what they are saying:
Hopefully not a D+ Show

A D+ show would be great. 6+ hours with a dope character is everything I would ever want

Would be a mistake making it a movie I think.

Nothing has been confirmed even regarding the presence of Norrin Radd in the MCU. As such, it’s better to consider these rumors with a pinch of salt. However, it’s interesting that scooper@MyTimeToShineHellorecently claimed that Marvel is looking to hire Antonio Banderas for the role of Galactus. It’s rumored that theFantastic Fourfilm will involve him as the main villain. It remains to be seen if these reports turn out to be true or not.
Fantastic Fourwill release on August 21, 2025.
