Who Are The Authority, The Team That James Gunn Will Introduce In DC?

James Gunnhas confirmed that The Authority will be established in the upcoming DC Universe. The Authorityis a comic book series within DC Comics from the WildStorm characters that includes members such as The Midnighter, The Doctor, Jenny Sparks, Apollo, and more. The team was formed after StormWatch had disbanded. It was formed by Sparks, and their methods of working were a lot harsher than any other superhero. They were more extreme and darker than usual superheroes, going out of their way to change the world without worrying about consequences.

“There are black hats, white hats, and gray hats. There are people that are anti-heroes, and there are people that are very questionable, like The Authority, who basically believe that you can’t fix the world in an easy manner, and they sort of take things into their own hands.”

They will be two integral members of The Authority and who even got married in the comics, and have an adoptive daughter, Jenny Quantum. The franchise’s step towards representation can benefit it a lot and the upcoming slate seems to be formulating an entirely new universe for the world of superheroes. The Authority can be seen fighting against the rules, being responsible for heavy civilian casualties, including the entire country of Italy. They are unstoppable when it comes to their goals of making the world a better place.

How Are Midnighter And Batman Different?

Being an icon of a huge brand, Batman has undoubtedly made a place in everyone’s hearts, but few know about his psychotically violent doppelganger. While Batman and Midnighter both share similar faces, their personalities are poles apart. Being driven by fear and trauma, Midnighter surpasses Batman in a few things like having the ability to calculate every possible outcome of a fight, enhanced strength, and speed, along with healing properties.

He not only carries these tweaked powers but also shows no mercy to his enemies and proceeds to eliminate them, unlike the Caped Crusader. Midnighter tends to heal from his own past and ensures no one in the present will ever have to experience what he went through, which is opposite to the methods of Batman. He is silent about his parents’ murder and his past traumas which establish him as being braver than Batman.
