As reported by the Daily Mail, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith initiated their separation in 2016, coinciding with a period when Jada was involved with a younger singer, August Alsina. Interestingly, the actress did not address any connection between her relationship with Alsina, who is 21 years her junior, and her separation from Will Smith.

How Jada Pinkett Smith Got Involved With August Alsina
News of Jada Pinkett Smith’s involvement with the singer came to light in 2020 when August Alsina made a shocking revelation during an interview with radio host Angela Yee on June 30. In the interview, he disclosed his romantic connection with Jada.

“I sat down with Will and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage into a life partnership. He gave me his blessing. I have a ton of love for her, as much that I can die right now peacefully knowing that I truly dedicated myself to someone.”
Following the sensational revelation, Jada shared a video on her Facebook page where she sat alongside her husband and openly admitted to her romantic involvement with the singer. This confession came as a significant turnaround, as she had previously denied any such affair.
Nonetheless, there is still uncertainty surrounding whether Pinkett Smith’s romantic involvement with Alsina played a role in her separation from her spouse, Will Smith, in 2016.
