During an episode ofRed Table Talks,Keanu Reevesshared a somewhat surprising childhood Halloween memory. He revealed he had once daringly transformed himself into the iconicDolly PartonPlayboy bunny for a spooky Halloween holiday.
This included not just any costume, but a meticulously recreated ensemble even featuring a bustier, fishnets, and all the glamorous elements that made Dolly Parton’s Playboy appearance iconic. He said,
“My mother was a costume designer and she made some costumes for Dolly Parton and she once did the cover of ‘Playboy,’—So we had it, and it was Halloween. So I put on the ears and the bustier,–I wore sneakers with fishnet stockings and the bowtie. I had some pretty long hair, and I was Dolly Parton as a Playboy Bunny.””
He again went into detail and revealed on theGraham Norton Show,
“Well, I wasn’t like 14 — I was 16. I got on public transportation,–Well, the thing was, I didn’t have the shoes. I had the ears, I had the bow tie, I had the top. I didn’t have the cufflinks. It was the stockings — that I didn’t shave my legs — and I was wearing these really ratty sneakers. And then I was on the streetcar going to this Halloween party at the performing arts high school that I went to.”

“You’re probably wondering why I’m dressed like this. Well, it’s for my husband’s birthday,–Remember some time back I said I was gonna pose on Playboy magazine when I’m 75? Well, I’m 75 and they don’t have a magazine but my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy. I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not gonna try to talk him out of that.”
