During an interview withThe Hollywood Reporter,Cobie Smuldersclaimed that she knew about her death from the very beginning, years before the show started producing. She went on to add that she received the news directly from the co-president of Marvel Studios when she was asked for being onboard the cast for the show. She found it a real surprise how she kept it a secret for a very long time, unlike some actors who just blabber everything.
“I was told right away. I was told right off the bat when Marvel Studios co-president, Lou D’Esposito gave me a call to chat about just joining up on ‘Secret Invasion’, and so I’ve known about it for years, which is really funny. It’s nice to finally have it out there. I’m surprised I didn’t let her slip, so I’ve known for a while.”

Smulders really appreciated the fact that the studio trusted her with such important information and she respected that trust by keeping it a secret until the last moment.
Is Maria Hill’s Time With The MCU Over?
Well, it is highly unlikely that the actress will reprise her role as Maria Hill in any show or movie related to S.H.I.E.L.D. as per the current timeline, but it is also possible for her to make an appearance in many of these movies now that time travel is an option. Even though her character had very less screen time in the movies, she was a very important supporting character and her absence will be felt throughout the franchise. According to recent news, Cobie Smulders will reprise her role inThe Marvelsfor potentially one last time before giving her a proper sendoff.
