Renowned American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino recently revealed his desire to retire from Hollywood after almost 30 long years of working in the film industry as he confirmed his departure following his next film. Although thePulp Fictiondirector doesn’t have a complete layout with regard to his next project, he seems certain that it is going to be his last.
In his latest interview withCNN, the author ofCinema Speculationexplained why he’s planning on exiting from the art of creating and directing movies as he talked about making one last masterpiece before leaving for good.

Quentin Tarantinomade his debut in the film industry in the early 1990s with the crime/drama film,Reservoir Dogswhich he not only directed but also starred in. Ever since then, he has shepherded some of the most successful movies in Hollywood likeInglorious Bastards(2009),Django Unchained(2012), and two volumes of the action/crime movieKill Bill, to name a few.
But after making nine standalone films with serving as the screenwriter for some of them, the Academy-Award-winning director is planning on parting his ways with Hollywood after his tenth film, as he admitted in his interview withCNN‘s Chris Wallace. The 59-year-old explained how he didn’t want to become“out of touch”with the culture of films that is presently flourishing, which is why he’s thinking about retiring.

“I’ve been doing it for a long time; I’ve been doing it for 30 years. And it’s time to wrap up the show. Like I said, I’m an entertainer. I want to leave you wanting more, you know. And I don’t want to work to diminishing returns. I don’t want to become this old man who’s out of touch when I’m already feeling a bit like an old man out of touch when it comes to the current movies that are out right now, and that’s what happens. That’s exactly what happens.”
Having directed some of the most popular movies of all time, Tarantino’s tenth film, though unknown as of right now to the filmmaker himself, is sure to be one of a kind considering how it’s also going to be his last.
What will Quentin Tarantino’s last movie in Hollywood be?
It seems like theDeath Proofactor himself doesn’t have a plan put together with regard to his last project before he finally takes his leave from it all. When asked if he had any potential ideas about his next movie, Tarantino replied in the negative, claiming that he isn’t in any rush to get it over with either.
“No, I don’t, at all because I’m also not in a giant hurry to make my last movie either.”
TheJackie Browndirector further went on to say that he doesn’t“even know what a movie is”right now, given how currently people are all about streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime whereas he is more used to the authentic way as he remarked how his“last movie opened up in 3000 theatres,”pointing to the 2019 drama/comedyOnce Upon A Time..in HollywoodstarringLeonardo DiCaprioandBrad Pitt.
So, there’s no information on the subject of Tarantino’s last film. However, looking at his past projects, all his films have been unique in their own ways with some of the most unusually captivating themes and peculiarly intriguing aesthetics being portrayed in his works. And knowing Tarantino, he would rather go out with a band than leave a bland impact on his audience. So, it’s safe to say that his tenth movie could very well end up being a cinematic masterpiece.
