During the recent promotion of the 2023 movieAir,the duo reunited on the red-carpet event for the movie. Talking to Variety,Matt Damonshared the craziest pitch that they had ever gotten. The script was for a sequel to the classic 1997 movieGood Will Hunting.
“Someone just tried to pitch Ben [Affleck] ‘Good Will Hunting 2’. (laughs) I sh*t you not. That happened. He told me today, I heard him—the reason it’s the top of my mind is cause he’s like, ‘You’re not going to believe what I heard.'”
When the story was brought up toBen Affleck, theJustice Leagueactor also shared a chuckle and stated that Damon should not be telling these stories publicly.
“Matt [Damon] is always telling stories he should not be telling (laughs). It’s not one we’re going to pursue.”
With a great premise of brilliance set against the backdrop of an emotional crisis,Good Will Huntingessentially made both the actors famous and gave them the breakthrough that they needed to make it big in Hollywood.
