Scarlett Johansson met Colin Jost for the first time in 2006 atSaturday Night Live, when she was hosting the show for the first time, and Jost was the writer for the show. In 2012, the actress started dating French journalist Romain Dauriac, with whom she shares a daughter. The couple got married in 2014, but this marriage also could not last long as they separated in 2016.
Johansson started dating her present husband, Colin Jost in 2017. The couple got engaged in 2019 and finally exchanged rings in 2020 in a very simple and private wedding ceremony. Scarlett Johansson shares thoughts on the teenage version of husband Colin Jost
TheLost in Translationstar talked about her relationship with her husband Colin Jost onThe Drew Barrymore Show. The actress was seen joking aboutSaturday Night Liveco-head writer andWeekend Updateco-host – Colin Jost.
The actress was asked if she would have been romantically attracted to her husband if they had met in their teenage years. Johansson replied,
“I don’t think so.”
She went on to poke fun at her weird hairstyle of Jost that he carried as a teenager.Iron Man 2star said,
“Firstly, my brother had that same haircut throughout the nineties…both of my brothers, and I just can’t. There’s no way. I mean, who decided on that cut as a stylish thing? What hairdresser was like ‘I’ll try this.'”
Talking about what drew her towards her husband, she shared,
“I didn’t know what I wanted or needed from somebody else. I never realized, ‘Oh, it’s really important for me, I need to be with a compassionate person. That’s a fundamental characteristic that has to be there.’ And I think that understanding what those fundamental things are that you need in a partner is a must, I think — for longevity, anyway. I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me.”
Scarlett JohanssonandColin Jostare happily married, and they have a two-year-old son.
