If we can think about the man who has done it all in life, then the name of Arnold Schwarzenegger may come to mind. From the fame of his bodybuilding career to his absolute dominance in the film industry and even becoming the Governor of California despite being a non-native American, there’s nothing that he hasn’t done in his life.

And especially when it comes to his training and workouts in the gym, there was hardly anyone who could go toe to toe with theTerminatorstar. But even with all of his muscle-building prowess, he was left speechless when boxing legend Muhammed Ali said that he only starts counting his reps in the gym after it begins to hurt.
Muhammed Ali’s Response To Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Question Left Him Impressed
There have been several stars in the film industry who have become legends in the books of cinema, but none of them have been likeArnold Schwarzenegger. Not only did he become an icon of the Golden Era of action films, he was formerly a seven-time winner of the coveted Mr. Olympia championship, giving him the title of a bodybuilding legend.
Still, being a gifted specimen of muscles, the legendaryMuhammed Alihimself once shocked the star in the gym with his ruthless training discipline.

In a recent episode ofThe Chris Evans Breakfast Show, theFubarstar recalled his time spent with the Olympic gold medalist, where they would often train together as well. Here, he opened up about being curious about how many reps in a set Ali would do to get the infamous strength in his mean jabs and hooks.
Ali would look straight at him, and say that he doesn’t start to count his reps until the prior ones are done enough times to feel the pain in his muscles. Schwarzenegger said:

“Remember the fight, George Foreman against Ali? How many times Foreman hit him in the waist, and he flexed his abs, and he could sustain the punishment. But how did he get there? So I asked him, i said ‘How many do you do? I mean, in bodybuilding we do a 1,000 reps a day, how many do you do?’ And he says ‘I don’t start counting until it hurts.'”
Just goes to show how much premier athletes go through to become the best of the best and become icons in their sports.

How Did Arnold Schwarzenegger Achieve His Physique?
Apart from the secret of his gifted genetics, the star credits his Greek God physique to good old training and a healthy diet for sustenance.
The star was especially known for going extra hard in the gym with his training methods, some of which were downright brutal on the body. Apart from that he made some minor adjustments in his exercises that compounded to better gains. He was also known to be a heavy consumer of meat products for building muscles.
