The art is as good as the artist, which holds true no matter if it’s showcased on canvas, on stone and marble, or created into a motion picture, the artist’s expression is unique to themselves. Therefore, director Wes Anderson is one of the most respected and revered filmmakers in modern-day Hollywood thanks to his unorthodox yet unique approach towards the art of cinema.

And with a successful and illustrious track record with his directorial offerings over the years, he has amassed a large fan following from within the film industry as well as from the audience. But even though he loves the attention and respect his artistic expression receives, a recent TikTok trend has been bugging him, to the point he’s lashing out at it.
Wes Anderson Doesn’t Want To See Films Reimagined In His Directorial Style
Famous for his uniquely recognizable style of direction that includes vivid use of pastel as well as punchy color scheme, uncanny character designs, and unorthodox yet intriguing use of eccentricities in front of the rolling camera. With so much impact thatWes Andersoncreates with his artistic expression in motion pictures, fans are beyond mesmerized, so much so that they want to recreate that style on their own, something that the director apparently doesn’t like being done.
In a recent interview,The Grand Budapest Hoteldirector talked about the recent TikTok challenge titled “The Wes Anderson Challange” where fans are recreating his style and posting videos on the short content platform. While he may have no issues with this at first, the problem he has is the constant stream of memes he is receiving which contains content related to this challenge. With his statement, he has made it clear that he doesn’t wish to receive them anymore. He said:

“I’m very good at protecting myself from seeing all that stuff, If somebody sends me something like that I’ll immediately erase it and say, ‘Please, sorry, do not send me things of people doing me.’ Because I do not want to look at it, thinking, ‘Is that what I do? Is that what I mean?’ I don’t want to see too much of someone else thinking about what I attempt to be because, God knows, I could then start doing it.”
Therefore, with so much going on in his mind, Anderson would rather focus on what to do next rather than what people might perceive of him.

What’s Next For Wes Anderson?
