Reese Witherspoon Was Arrested For Disorderly Conduct
Reese WitherspoonandJim Toth, who share a son, Tennessee James Toth, announced their separation earlier this year. They revealed the news shortly before their 12th wedding anniversary. Interestingly, almost a decade before they made the announcement, the former couple found themselves in legal trouble.
In April 2013, the Oscar-winning actress was charged and arrested for disorderly conduct after she refused to stay in the car while her ex-husband was given the field sobriety test. According toThe Guardian, the couple was stopped in Atlanta, after which Witherspoon told the officers, “Do you know my name?”before adding“You’re about to find out who I am.”

The report also claimed that her husband, Jim Toth, was also arrested for driving under the influence. The actress was later released to join the New York premiere of her filmMudat the time. She also released a statement apologizing for her behavior and acknowledged that she was drunk at the time.
“I clearly had one drink too many, and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said,”she shared in her statement. Witherspoon also apologized for being disrespectful toward the officers, saying that she has nothing but respect for police officers. Years later, during her appearance on theI Weigh podcast, she reflected on getting arrested and called her actions stupid.

During her appearance on theI Weigh podcast, Reese Witherspoon opened up about getting arrested and shared her thoughts. In a conversation with actressJameela Jamil, she called her actions “embarrassing and dumb,”while saying, “I did something really stupid.”
The actress said that she was also just a human being and made some“dumb decisions”on that day.The Morning Showstar was praised for acknowledging her fault in the whole situation. In her earlier statement, the actress also said,

“The words I used that night definitely do not reflect who I am. I have nothing but respect for the police and I’m very sorry for my behavior.”
