Everything you need to know about Keshta the Unyielding in The First Berserker Khazan and how to awaken the Phantom’s passive abilities.

The First Berserker Khazan starts as a fairly simple souls-like game with a linear leveling system and rarity-based loot akin to theNiohseries. However, once you progress through the main story, the game gradually opens up, giving you access to its various underlying gameplay features.

While it might not look like it, The First Berserker Khazan features an in-depth build-crafting system that stretches far beyond the traditional leveling system. One of the most intriguing features of the game is the addition ofPhantoms. After you defeat theBlade Phantomin the second main story mission, you get access to these spectral beings and their passive perks.

Keshta the Unyielding is the very first Phantom you receive in the game. Admittedly, it’s the best Phantom in the entire game, granting you bonus Stamina Regeneration as you level it up.

However, Keshta also has another set of abilities that only unlock afterAwakeningthe Phantom. Unfortunately, the game never explains how you may Awaken Phantoms. To help you with that, here’s a guide on how to awaken Keshta the Unyielding in The First Berserker Khazan.

Requirements To Awaken Keshta the Unyielding in The First Berserker Khazan

To unlock Keshta the Unyielding, you need to complete the second main story mission,Trials of the Frozen Mountain, anddefeat theBlade Phantom. Completing the Trials of the Frozen Mountain unlocks the area called theCrevice, which serves as the game’s central hub.

Within the Crevice, you’re able to talk to the Blade Phantom to unlock theBonus Mission–Stormpass’ Phantom of Combat. In this mission, you will have to fightKeshta the Unyielding, and upon defeating him, the Phantom will be added to your arsenal. Once you have Keshta equipped, the Phantom will automatically level up as you kill enemies and accumulateLacrima.

However, every Phantom, including Keshta, is capped atLevel 20for their base stats. Once you hit the Level 20 cap, the Phantoms won’t level up anymore. Instead, you will only be able to upgrade (Awaken) them twice after that.

Do note that Phantoms can be awakened even if you don’t hit the level cap. To upgrade the Phatoms, i.e., Awaken them, you need to collect specialGhost Relics. For every Phantom, there are three Ghost Relics in the game. One of the Ghost Relics is used to unlock the Phantom, and the rest are used to awaken them.
