Jake Roberts Lambasted Vince McMahon For His Unprofessional Decision
Owen Hart was one of the most renowned wrestlers, who showcased outstanding in-ring skills, and a charismatic personality, and entertained the masses. He had an iconic signature move, the sharpshooter, which he used in his matches, often leading to dramatic moments in the matches. Sadly, Hart had a tragic end to his career at the age of 33, when he fell from a height of 78 feet during the PPV event WWE Over the Edge.
The death of the former European Champion has marked a black stain in the history of professional wrestling and the company, because after the saddening loss PPV continued, leaving a horrible memory for The Hart Family. Fans and numerous wrestlers have slammed this decision of Vince McMahon. Recently, on the episode ofThe Snake Pit,Jake Roberts also criticized Vince McMahon, stating that a death in that ring should have stopped the match to show solidarity with the fallen performer.
“I think, yes, he should’ve stopped the PPV. A death in that ring should stop everything, just out of respect for the one that’s fallen.”
Since, WWE refused to show the basic dignity to the decorated wrestler, his widow, Dr. Martha Hart, cut ties with the company and pro wrestling. But the wrestling world did not forget his contribution as his wrestling legacy was revived by AEW and the Owen Hart Cup, presented in partnership with the Owen Hart Foundation, which was founded by Martha Hart.

While the cause of the sudden death of the wrestler remained a mystery at first subsequent reports suggest that he died from a heart attack, possibly combined with other health problems, and complications linked to COVID-19. As a result, of this heartbreaking news, an outpouring of messages and prayers came in from fans and prominent WWE stars.
Though Wyatt had gone too soon, he left a lasting mark in the industry, as he became one of the best supernatural personas of WWE, even getting compared to The Deadman, The Undertaker. He had won both world championships twice, conquering both the WWE and Universal Championships. While his legacy was cemented in WWE, his absence would be felt by every wrestling fan.
