Jeff Loveness did a nearly perfect job scripting theAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,as not only did he deliver a story that will carry the whole phases 5 and 6, but he also made sure that the movie did not completely reveal all the secrets of Kang. It was Loveness’s first time writing a script for the Marvel Studios and he did a good job, except for the fact that the fans completely thrashed the movie, saying it was one of the worst movies ever to be produced by MCU.
Though it’s only what the fans think, the higher-ups in Marvel Studios liked Jeff Loveness’s approach for the Ant-Man threequel and he will also be forming up the script forAvengers: Kang Dynasty,which is a couple of years away from now. Although he received an appraisal forAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,it was due to the shabby writing that he hurt a child actor’s career in the movie.

Jeff Loveness Almost Screwed Up a Young Man’s Career
TheAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniahad a very distinctive flow where the whole movie mostly focused on the Lang and the Van Dyne family and how they were catching up on the 5 years that they lost during the blip. The movie was really smooth going, despite being lowly rated, and scriptwriterJeff Lovenessaccepted that the movie had some faults in it, but nothing too big for the franchise to fall. But there was one thing that Lovesness pondered upon, a scene that was removed from the movie due to his incompetence, a scene that included Hope Van Dyne, actress Evangeline Lilly’s scene with her son in the threequel.

In an interview with IGN, Jeff Loveness opened up about the scenario saying,
“Oh, yeah. And it’s my fault. I think it just didn’t fit in the flow of what we were doing […] But… it’s on me. I think it just seemed a little disjointed. There was more story of where Kang was going to explain what you’re walking into and what you’re seeing. But it’s on me. I feel bad for the kid. Sorry. I hope his agent wasn’t screaming at him that he really fucked his career. It was me. It’s my shoddy writing.”
During his interview, Loveness explained how the scene would not have made sense in the movie if a child was suddenly introduced as one of the main lead’s son, it would have created much chaos and Jeff Loveness was not up for it. He further went on to explain that the movie was really well going as it portrayed many interesting topics in the movie such as the“Schrodinger’s cat thing”and there were many“psychological elements to it too”.Jeff Loveness also talks about how Lilly perfectly portrayed her role throughout the movie and praises her to be a fine actor.
WasAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaa Failure?
Although the Ant-Man threequel was the first theatrical release of Phase 5, it suffered many negative critics reviews as it was not able to calm the fans who had such high expectations from the franchise and the movie. The movie was supposed to set the base for the upcoming phases and pave the way for the next movies, exploring all the possibilities in the multiverse, and introducing more Kangs in the movies. But it seems thatAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniareally downgraded Kang the Conqueror from what he should be, a multiversal threat capable of ripping apart timelines was defeated by mere 1000 years advanced ants.

Fans are utterly disappointed by the movie and have even taken to social media to express their views on the movie, though it is their beloved MCU which once ruled the box offices with their simultaneous blockbusters, Ant-Man threequel really stepped down a notch. The movie has collected a bit over $373 million at the box office with an enormous budget of $200 million and the ratings are also poor, a mere 6.5/10 which makes it B grade movie, making it one of the worst-rated movies from all the 31 releases by MCU.
