Warner Bros Discovery has canceled another upcoming HBO Max show. The studio announced a reboot forConstantinefeaturing Sope Dirisu, which was supposed to be released on HBO Max. But it was scrapped after the studio announced a sequel to the 2005Constantine. Since the 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves, the character has appeared on screen in a variety of projects. John Constantine’s recent appearance was inLegends of Tomorrow season 6, where Matt Ryan played the character.

It’s been years since the first film came out. Hence HBO Max decided to start developing a new reboot with JJ Abrams. It required a British Black male actor to play the role eyeing an early 2023 filming start date.

Now that the studio has canceled the reboot in favor of a sequel to the 2005 film, Sope Dirisu has shared his thoughts on the decision. The actor took Twitter to react to the news. He shared a piece of fan art of Reeves’ character and wished him the best for his return.

Fans have praised Dirisu for taking the decision respectively. They wished him the best and said that they hope to see him play the character in the future as well.

Keanu Reeves is confirmed to return in Constantine 2.

JJ Abrams was responsible for developing the reboot under his 250 million deal with Warner Bros. Under this deal, JJ Abrams was supposed to introduce the characters ofJustice League Darkwith their respective shows. JJ Abrams also had to establish a standalone universe ofSuperman. But three years later, no such developments were made.

Warner Bros Confirm Constantine 2

Warner Bros has confirmed the sequel to the 2005 film. The director of the 2005Constantine, Francis Lawrence, will also direct the sequel. The announcement received a mixed response. While fans of the film have praised the decision, others have expressed their confusion at its development.

At the time of its release, the film did not get positive critical reviews. It also failed at the box office, and it’s been 17 years since its release of the film. Considering all these people have started questioning the studio’s decision.

However, DC fans are excited to see Keanu Reeves back as John Constantine in the sequel. There is a possibility that this film will be based on the ongoing DCEU. However, the studio has not made any confirmation in this regard.
