The upcoming rogue-like Monster Train 2 has already announced a collaboration with another famous indie rogue-like, Balatro.
The first Monster Train was a deck builder, rogue-like, strategy game. The sequel, Monster Train 2, aims to conserve the same spirit of the original, and add a bunch of new features.

The game is being developed by Shiny Shoe, and published by Big Fan Games. Monster Train 2 has just announced a collaboration with another smash indie hit from last year, Balatro. This collaboration isn’t something very out of pocket, since both are rogue-like deck building games.

What Will the Monster Train 2 x Balatro Collaboration Be About

The collaboration will involve many of Jimbo’s jokers show up as relics within the world of Monster Train 2. Acquiring these jokers will buff your deck significantly, so be on the lookout for these.
The collaboration was announced via various social media platforms including the official X (formerly Twitter) accounts of both games, and also on the Steam store page for Monster Train 2.

Jimbo will appear randomly throughout your Monster Train 2 run, and reward you with a random Joker to assist you. These Joker cards will emulate their effect from the original game and have chances to increase your gold, deal more damage, or disappear completely.
Which Jokers Are Confirmed To Appear in Monster Train 2
Through the promotional video for the collaboration, we already have some information on what cards to expect. Although it is unclear if these are the only cards that will appear. Here is a complete list of cards:
Monster Train 2 is releasing on July 15, 2025. Additionally, you’re able to currently hop into a playable demo while you wait for the full release of the game.
