The show was unique as it broke past traditional superhero shows by blending mystery and sitcom elements, narrating a beautiful story full of grief, emotional resonance, and introspection of human emotions.
The series created connections withDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which added to the overall popularity of the show. However, Elizabeth Olsen was under immense pressure for her project to impress Kevin Feige. While the show was a massive hit on Disney +, the success of the $225 million project looked uncertain especially when the series was delayed by the global pandemic.

Elizabeth Olsen Was Worried About the Success ofWandaVision
Recently theLove & Deathactress was present on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where she was vocal about her concerns regardingWandaVisionprior to its release on the OTT platform. Stephen Colbert stated called the series“extraordinary,”as it tends to showcase themes such as grief, loss, family, and identity for Wanda Maximoff and Vision.
“Last time you were here, we hadn’t seen ‘WandaVision’ yet. What an extraordinary show that was. You’ve done a lot of Marvel stuff, and there’s been a lot of these Marvel shows, but that really broke form in an interesting way, and it has such a beautiful, and satisfying, and heartbroken emotional journey for your character, and, of course, for Vision as well.”
Colbert asked the actress if she knew the show would be a massive hit prior to its release.Elizabeth Olsenreplied that her co-star Paul Bettany kept calling their show a “forgotten cousin to the Marvel Universe” comparing their show withThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierwhich was packed with action. And while their co-stars were traveling around the world for their show, they were shooting their show in a corner.
“We just felt like… Paul kept calling us the forgotten cousin to the Marvel universe. He just felt like we were some annoying cousin that people threw in the corner… and I think Anthony Mackie and Sebastian (Stan) were traveling all over the world and blowing things up. And Paul and I were just like, doing sitcom acting in a corner. And, obviously, our amazing cast and crew.”
TheOldboyactress acknowledged that everyone was enjoying their work in the TV Series, but they were secretly worried about their career because the failure of the show“might potentially ruin us all.”
“But, we loved what we were doing. We had so much fun doing it. But we really felt like it was either going to– it might potentially ruin us all. (laughs) I think that’s the stuff that feels the most fun to make, is when you feel like you could fail at any second.”
While the concern of the actress was important prior to the release of the show, her concern was important because the show would mark the beginning of phase 4 of the MCU. While phase 4 received mixed reactions from the fans, was the series taken well by the viewers?

WandaVisionWas a Smash-hit Among its Viewers
While Elizabeth Olsen was nervous prior to the release ofWandaVision,the series was a massive hit that surprised the actress herself. The 2021 TV Series was written differently from the other superhero shows or movies, as the show had a sitcom-style storytelling method giving the franchise and its viewers something different and exciting to watch.
The show explored deeper into the lives of Wanda Maximoff and Vision in an out-of-the-box manner where the viewers saw their relationship from a different angle. As the show progressed, it kept its viewers on the edge of their seats, speculating what would unfold in the next scene of the episode, and how the fictional town of Westview, became a part of the bigger picture.
The chemistry between Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen was outstanding, and the performance of the entire cast was praise-worthy. Moreover, the show explored themes that are typically not done in superhero TV Series making it stand out from the masses, which was also one of the key reasons for the show’s success.
