The actor was represented by a spokesperson who informed viaDeadlineabout the status of Renner’s current condition. The representative relayed that the actor is“in critical but stable condition”and that the accident occurred“after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier [on Sunday]. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

The actor was reportedly at his Reno home located approximately 25 miles away from the city near the ski mountains, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe. The local outlet,Reno Gazette-Journalalso reported a harsh snowstorm hitting the nearby landscape and neighboring towns on New Year’s Eve that affected almost 35,000 homes across the region of Northern Nevada.
