The widely anticipated release ofOne PieceLive-Action produced by Netflix on August 31st has brought relief to millions of fans around the globe who were worried that the series is just going to be another failed attempt at a Live-Action adaptation of an anime.

However, all such doubts were demolished as soon as the first episode aired, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback on social media platforms as well as critic scores.
One of the major reasons why the series was such a huge success can be dedicated to the cast and crew’s dedication to sticking to the source material written byEiichiro Oda. And while this promise was kept majorly, Netflix did not hesitate to make these small key changes in the series from their end.

One Piece Live-Action Misses Out Parts Of Manga
Despite the best efforts put in by the studio, fans have noticed how the newly launched series lacks in some key areas when compared to the source material. While it may not be as big of a deal considering such was supposed to happen naturally due to being an adaptation, it is still important for one to point it out and keep it in plain sight.
The most notable change yet made by the studio is how the characters are being introduced in the Live-Action series. It can be observed that the pacing of how the characters are being introduced is faster when compared with the source material. It can also be noted that some characters are introduced early in the live-action, one such example would be Garp being present during the execution of Gol D.Roger, a character which was shown way later inOne Piece‘s anime and manga counterparts.

Purpose Of Change To One Piece Source Material
While many might look at it as unnecessary for the studio to deviate from the source material, it could not have been avoided in the first place. One needs to understand how the series is vast and expands way over the limits of the studios, causing the manga to be more streamlined and portrayed at a faster pace.
It is also just the start of the series, with a lot left to come still. It will come as no surprise if Netflix chooses to pursue other legacy anime such asDragon BallandNarutonext to be adapted to Live-Action ifOne PieceLive-Action turns out to be a huge success. Also Read:“This allows viewers to really get absorbed in the story”: Naruto Director Reveals 1 Area it is Superior to One Piece and Every Other Shōnen AnimeSource:Dexerto–
