This sudden passing was a result of a brain tumor that he had been diagnosed with only eight weeks ago. The actor was a crucial part of the highly adored series,Peaky Blinders, playing the recurring role of Jeremiah “Jimmy” Jesus, a street preacher who was close to the Shelby family.

“Benjamin was a truly gifted and beautiful human being — a generational poet, writer, musician and activist. A proud Brummie and a Peaky Blinder,”said Murphy in a statement.“I’m so saddened by this news. RIP.”
Murphy also mentioned that he would always be a Brummie, a word used frequently in the series, and added that he was also forever a part of the Peaky Blinders. The actor finished by saying that he was deeply devasted by this news and telling him to rest in peace.
