Benjamin Zephaniah, a beloved actor, writer, and poet, has recently passed away. This deeply heart-wrenching news comes as a shock to many, having been only 65 years old. This sudden passing was a result of a brain tumor that he had been diagnosed with only eight weeks ago. The actor was a crucial part of the highly adored series,Peaky Blinders, playing the recurring role of Jeremiah “Jimmy” Jesus, a street preacher who was close to the Shelby family.

The official Instagram account for the series also put up a statement where they spoke on how important he was for the series and how his loss will be felt by all who were a part of it.

According toDeadline,Cillian Murphyspoke aboutBenjamin Zephaniah’spassing in a very sincere message. The actor started by saying that Zephaniah was an extremely exceptional and talented person. He added that not only was he an impactful actor, but also a beloved poet and writer.

“Benjamin was a truly gifted and beautiful human being — a generational poet, writer, musician and activist. A proud Brummie and a Peaky Blinder,”said Murphy in a statement.“I’m so saddened by this news. RIP.”

Murphy also mentioned that he would always be a Brummie, a word used frequently in the series, and added that he was also forever a part of the Peaky Blinders. The actor finished by saying that he was deeply devasted by this news and telling him to rest in peace.
