Christopher Nolan seems to have joined the side against streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. With his latest magnum opus,Oppenheimeris all set to debut in homes with a special edition of the 2023 movie.

Stating that considerable efforts had been put into creating this special edition, the director also seemed to insinuate that there were“evil streaming services”at hand amidst David Fincher’s comments on his Netflix deal!

A recent tweet has been making rounds around the internet where the director was seen talking about the future ofOppenheimer.With the world around us giving way to streaming and renting options rather than theatrical releases,Christopher Nolandecided to go back to the old style.

In the video shared by the Twitter account ofVariety,Nolan revealed that there’s a special edition of the movie being made for collectors (like himself) and ensured the people that“No evil streaming service can come and steal it from you”.

“[We’re] trying to translate the photography and sound [inOppenheimer]…for a version that you can buy and own at home and put on a shelf so no evil streaming service can come and steal it from you.”

The director’s comments added fuel to an already burning fire of streaming vs theatrical release as veteran director David Fincher recently released his second movie in collaboration withNetflixwhich raked in quite the numbers!
