Before garnering the role of one of the strongest MCU heroes on the big screen, it appears that Brie Larson wanted to be part of the iconicStar Warsfranchise. The Oscar-winning actress, who made her MCU debut through 2019’sCaptain Marveland portrayed the role of a badass Carol Danvers, initially hoped to lend another badass role in her career.

After making her debut with 1975’sShampoo, Carrie Frances Fisher soon become an inspiration to an entire generation of women through her role in 1977’sStar Wars: A New Hope.The actress, who portrayed the role of the iconic Princess Leia, also went on to influence a youngBrie Larson, who too went on to follow in Fisher’s footsteps and cemented her name in the industry.

Although Brie Larson did eventually get the role of Captain Marvel and went on to lead MCU’s first female-led Superhero movie, it seems the actress initially wanted to portrayStar Wars‘ Princess Leia. The Marvel actress opened up about her dream of being part of the billion-dollarStar Warsfranchise during an episode of ABC’sGood Morning America,where she stated,

“I wanted to be Princess Leia. [When] I was probably 8 years old, I bought a shirt that was for, like, maybe my size now, because I was going to play her at some point. I kept it in my closet. I’m sure my mom has it in the garage somewhere.”

But it wasn’t the only time when the Marvel actress acknowledged the importance of Fisher’s Princess Leia in her life. As back in 2017, she showcased her immense respect for the actress through a heartfelt tribute.

After the legendaryStar Warsstar Carrie Fisher passed away at the age of 60 due to a sudden cardiac arrest, many fans and celebrities shared their condolences over the tragic loss. Following this event, Brie Larson also went on to share a heartfelt tribute to her favorite actress through an Instagram post. The caption of the post stated,Remembering They Are Rebel Princesses In 2017, referring to the influence and legacy of  Fisher’s Badass Princess Leia.
