Furthermore, you will gain weapon proficiency for each weapon type as you use it in battle and kill enemies. As you gain proficiency, you will increase your weapon’s rank. Reaching new ranks can unlock additional stats and more powerful weapon combos.

In your first playthrough, the maximum weapon rank you can achieve with each weapon type is 8. However, after completing the main campaign the first time you will be able to continue leveling your weapon proficiency up to Rank 11.

Weapon Grades in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

In Dynasty Warriors: Origins your weapons do not have levels or rarity qualities, but instead are ranked by Weapon Grades. Weapon Grades start at level 1 and can reach a maximum of Grade 7.

Furthermore, within each weapon grade you can also have weapons with higher base stats. For example, the General’s Sword is a Grade 3 weapon with an attack stat of 80. The General’s Sword +8 is also a Grade 3 weapon, but it will have a base attack stat of 88.

Weapon Traits in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

All weapons in Dynasty Warriors: Origins will have at least one trait slot, with a trait that can boost attack power, Battle Art, drops, and more. When looking at a weapon in your inventory, you can see at a glance how many traits it has by the diamonds listed underneath the name. Each diamond represents a trait slot. Weapons can have up to six trait slots at maximum.

Furthermore, the weapons found in the shop will all have set traits that are static and predictable. They are the same for each weapon type at each weapon grade. However, the traits found on dropped weapons are random. Dropped weapons are always more powerful than weapons found in the shop. Moreover, they will nearly always have a higher number of traits on them.

All Weapons in Dynasty Warriors Origins Explained

Finally, you cannot change the traits you find on your weapons until after you have played through the main campaign once. After you have completed the story the first time, new features will unlock. This includes the ‘Reforge’ option, which will appear on the same screen as the Weapon Shop. Here, you will have the option to change your weapon traits.
