New updates fromVenom 3hint that Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is gearing up to introduce a new group of supervillains in the upcoming sequel. The Tom Hardy movies are one of the most successful films in the franchise and looks like Sony would like to maintain that status for some more time.

Recently, some set photos fromVenom 3also hinted that we might see the iconic villain group from the Spider-Man comics in live-action. Although the group was initially planned to be introduced in Andrew Garfield’sThe Amazing Spider-Man 3,the fate met by that movie is well-known in the fandom. But this also suggests that we might see multiple supervillains in Eddie Brock’s next.

Is a new supervillain team to be shown inVenom 3?
Venom: Let There Be Carnageproved to be one of the most significant pandemic box office hits. It maintained the success streak of the franchise that started in 2018. As the development of the threequel has started at full pace, looks like theTom Hardymovie will elevate the stakes for our beloved Eddie Brock.
A report by Cosmic Circus released in May revealed that the working title ofVenom 3is “Orwell”. For all those not so versed with the comic mythos of Venom, Orwell is a direct mention of Orwell Taylor and his group called The Jury in Marvel Comics. Orwell Taylor became a major antagonist of Eddie Brock after the former’s older son Hugh was killed by Venom in theVenom: Lethal Protectorcomic series.

The team comprised the younger son Maxwell along with some of Taylor’s friends in the military and some guards from The Vault who had suits equipped with weapons made of Venom’s weakness. Even though Venom defeated the team with ease, they later joined hands with The Life Foundation. This might hint at a potential connection betweenVenom 3and the first instance where The Life Foundation played a great role.
After some set photos of Mexico were unveiled, the fans also suggested that The Jury is highly likely to be featured in the upcoming Kelly Marcel flick. While Orwell’s villain team will be a subject of interest, the possibility of Sinister Six makes sure to raise the hype more, after a recent photo posted by Hardy hinted at the possibility.
